On Wednesday 23rd January, we held a Leadership Leads Network event, which was attended by leadership representatives from across the region. The day kicked off with a CPD session on ‘Successful Collaboration in a Competitive Environment’ delivered by Byron Lee. This focused on the differences between competitive and collaborative (compassionate) mindsets, the vital role of human connection in working with complexity, and how ‘co-opetition’ enables us to collaborate as a system and succeed individually.
In the afternoon we gave a Leadership Academy update, discussed the Leadership and OD priorities for the coming year and worked together to co-create a space in which members can share learning and successes, work collaboratively and develop their own leadership capability.
Faye Beddow, Leadership and Organisational Development Lead for the South West Leadership Academy said “taking the time out of busy work lives is challenging for everyone, but this event gave our leadership development leads the opportunity to stop, take a step back, and really think about their challenges and how they could approach them as local systems and collectively as a regional network. It was really inspiring to hear about some of the great work happening at both an organisational and system level. There was a real appetite for sharing successes with a view to enabling wider application across the system, and the flexibility to adapt to meet local needs.”
