The NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme (GMTS) is an exceptional, fast-track leadership development programme for both recent graduates and those already working within the NHS. The scheme is open to a diverse range of ambitious, passionate, values-driven individuals from all walks of life who are looking to make a positive difference to the lives of patients. Established in 1956, the GMTS has over 65 years of graduate training expertise, developing individuals to become successful leaders within the healthcare service.
Would you like to host a GMTS trainee from September 2022?
Applications from prospective trainees are underway but the GMTS is now keen to hear from health and social care organisations across the South West who would be interested in hosting trainees in work placements. The scheme runs for between two and two and half years, offering individuals non-clinical leadership and management training in one of six specialisms. These include General Management, Human Resources, Finance, Policy & Strategy, Health Informatics and Health Analysis.
Working Together With Others
Partnerships between multiple organisations providing opportunities for trainees to rotate across different services and organisational boundaries have proven really successful in the past. Working with other organisations in this way enables trainees to develop a better understanding of the challenges across health and social care services. If you would like to explore how this might work either for an individual trainee or you would like to speak to other host organisations, then we would love to hear from you.
How does it work?
Organisations looking to host a trainee in 2022 need to submit a completed application form by 15th February.
If you are interested in hosting a trainee between multiple parties, we ask for a lead organisation to submit an application for the full two years on behalf of the partnership/system.
