GMTS 2018 – Virtual panellists required

Posted: Tuesday, 10th April, 2018

The South West Leadership Academy are looking for virtual panel members to assist with this years placement accreditation for the Graduate Management Trainee Scheme.

The Process

The accreditation process relies on a panel of interested stakeholders, including placement managers, programme managers, GMTS steering group members and alumni to quality score submitted placement opportunities. We use a national scoring framework and placements are scored on the organisational commitment to the scheme, the supporting infrastructure available to the trainee, and the quality and relevance of the role. Only the highest quality placements are then considered for a trainee.

Using an accreditation panel ensures equity for all organisations, ensures standards are met consistently, and reduces variation in practice.

The Commitment

Based on feedback from various stakeholders, we’ve made a number of refinements to our accreditation process and will be doing things a little differently this year.  We’re confident these enhancements will contribute to a fairer, more robust process.

We’re now looking for individuals to act as virtual panel members and commit to the following;

  • Attend a 30 minute training webinar on either 10:30am – 11am Friday 27th April or Wednesday 9th May – to introduce the scoring framework and increase consistency in scoring
  • Score a small number of placement opportunities (approx. 6-7) between 9th May – 18th May – submitting scores to the Leadership team inbox by 5pm Friday 18th May.
  • Scoring will be carried out virtually and scoring packs will be sent electronically.

Panel members should be committed to undertaking this process in full and will need to ensure they have the capacity to score approx.6 placement opportunities within the time frame specified. We anticipate each placement will take approximately 30 minutes to score.

Next Steps

The academy are looking to recruit a virtual panel by Monday 23rd April 2018.  If you’re interested in taking part in this years accreditation process then please submit your details via the following link –

Accreditation is a critical component of the recruitment process and couldn’t run without the support and assistance of our stakeholders. We are hugely grateful to everyone who comes forward to take part and we hope you’ll be able to work with us this year.
