Enabling our stakeholders to achieve organisational change outcomes through shared understanding and exploration
As OD practitioners, supporting our stakeholders through change as well as being technically competent, we must quickly build strong and robust relationships. With its emphasis on the relational, this one day workshop will at first provide space for you to revisit your understanding of ‘self’ and how your preferences influence your communication and relationships with others.
We will consider how others may see the same scenario by undertaking activity to ‘stand in their shoes’ and experience a situation from another’s viewpoint. This will be underpinned by looking at approaches taken from Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Systemic Constellations and models such as Johari’s window and the Ok Corral. Finally the day will pull together these insights to enable individuals to act as Trusted Adviser to their stakeholders using the 4 elements of the Trust Equation.
As a result of the day you will be able to:
- Identify supportive and limiting behaviours and approaches within your stakeholder network.
- Identify your impact on others through awareness of your preferences. Noticing the assumptions that we make about others based on our own preferences and flexing approaches to achieve richer conversations and building shared interests/objectives.
- Reflect on how principles from Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Systemic Constellations enable us to gain greater understanding and craft collaborative, open and respectful conversations with others by standing in their space.
- Be introduced to the Trust Equation and consider how you show up with regards the 4 elements of the Trusted Adviser – Credibility, Reliability, Intimacy and Self – orientation; Transforming your relationships focusing on trust, communication and transparency.
