Stepping Up Programme | Bristol City Council

Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol, as part of his manifesto has pledged to champion a new leadership landscape across Bristol that more readily reflects the population it serves.

If you feel you have the motivation and talent potential to reach a senior leadership role in Bristol, but perhaps feel you have not had the opportunity then this is the programme for you.

The programme

The programme has commitment from 30+ organisations across the private and public sectors who are working together to create a BAME talent pipeline across Bristol.  This innovative and ground breaking initiative will offer:

  • Access to Level 5 ILM Certificate in Leadership and Management
  • Participation leadership development programme
  • Mentoring Programme
  • Peer learning sets
  • Stretch assignment
  • Career Management Workshop

You will remain employed within your current role, however your organisation will look to release you for 30 days throughout the duration of the programme to allow you to undertake the necessary development work.
